Lego Star Wars

Lego Star Wars came out last year, but it took me until last week to finally purchase the game. I generally hate "Greatest Hits," but I found that it is on a DVD rather than a blue CDROM, so I dealt with it. I finished the game today, and began going through the game again to collect the remaining unlockables. Now that LucasArts is releasing the sequel of the original trilogy, I am naturally very interested in seeing what they do with the game.

This game is not difficult by any stretch of the imagination, and it is literally impossible to die, but it is so funny, I just had to keep playing. The Lego mannerisms were just hilarious. I am just glad that I played it long after seeing the latest movie.

By the way, why didn't "Revenge of the Sith" with an Oscar for something?

Castlevania - Curse Of Darkness

I finally beat the newest console Castlevania game, and I must say that it was rather easy. Between the ability to level-up and use of Innocent Devils the game did not make me try a boss battle more than once. I was always successful on my first attempt. In any case, the game was a lot of fun, and I plan to try the game again as Trevor Belmont now that the main quest is over.

Three things to keep in mind:
  1. Always use the War Hammer (when available)
  2. Always use Corpsey as an Innocent Devil
  3. Enjoy the ending Theme Song.

Prince Of Persia - The Two Thrones

I finally beat the last chapter of the "Sands of Time." The ending was absolutely fantastic and the game was enjoyable, unlike its prequel, "The Warrior Within." That game became a chore. The "Sands of Time" and "The Two Thrones" were enjoyable from the beginning to the end. I especially like how the endings go together.

Ubisoft says that the next game will not be released until the next generation of consoles, but it will have an entirely new storyline. I look forward to it.

Ubisoft. I need to request one thing. Please do not make the game anything like "Warrior Within." After playing "The Two Thrones," I can truly see how awful the game was.

Burnout Revenge

I finally completed all of the missions in Burnout Revenge. It is a phenomenal game and although I have not played it since completing the game, it has its online elements which will make me return. Let's just hope that the inevitable sequel has a soundtrack more akin to Burnout 3 so I do not have to turn down the speakers for another wonderful game.

Castlevania - Symphony Of Night

Whenever a new Castlevania game comes to the market, I always manage to start playing SOTN again. I guess am insistent on comparing the two. Curse of Darkness definitely meets the level of ingenuity of Symphony of the Night, but there is one problem I have with the game. That problem is the speed of the main hero, Hector. Apparently Devil Forgers are really slow walkers. In addition, SOTN has Alucard as the main anti-hero, and he can turn into mist, a wolf or a bat. Hector can't do any of those things.

The critics panned the game because of two similar level designs, but I think the game is absolutely great! I look at it like this...He is in a castle; how much can it possibly vary?

Welcome

Welcome to my blog about video games. I plan to review the games I play in this blog for anybody who chooses to read it. At one point, I was an avid gamer and really enjoyed the difficult games, but as I have gotten older, I am far more casual.

The current games that I am playing are:
  1. Castlevania - Curse Of Darkness
  2. Prince Of Persia - The Two Thrones
  3. God Of War
  4. Burnout - Revenge
These four games are from my favorite franchises, some that have existed for nearly twenty years. Castlevania - Symphony of the Night and Prince of Persia - Sands of Time are my absolute favorites. The Burnout series was released in the Playstation 2 generation, and has become my favorite racer. God Of War is an absolute masterpiece, but I have not had the time to really play through it. I have had the game since it was released in March 2005, but have not yet completed it. Now with the other three listed, it will probably be a while before finishing this truly superb game.

Welcome to my newest blog.
